Lively Librarian's 1st Contest!

Hello Readers!

To celebrate a New Year and to thank regular readers for their continued support of my little blog I am introducing a regular contest feature!

To enter to win a $25 Amazon gift card you must enter a comment to this blog post by answering the following question:

What is your favorite book?

The winner will be chosen by comment number at random and is not based on your answer. When commenting please do not include an email address in your answer in order to prevent spam. If you are a blogger or have a URL please feel free to share that info! I also love to read how you found my blog. Deadline to enter is 8:00 am 1/8/10.

I will post the winner's name on Friday, January 8 on Lively Librarian and the winner must contact me at livelylibrarian at comcast.net with an email address to claim your prize.

Good luck and thanks for reading!

P.S. The contests will be at least monthly, maybe more! Subscribe to my blog so you don't miss one!

Oh what a tough questions! I guess I would probably have to say Pride & Prejudice as trite as that might sound.

Gosh... favorite book of all time? I'd be inclined to say The Bread Baker's Apprentice or the $64 Tomato, just for their life changing abilities on me... but the book I can read again and again is Lord of the Flies.

I'm going to have to go with any of the Harry Potter books. I've read them multiple times, and still love getting immersed in that world of magic.

Heather/bodaciousgirl sent me--you have a great blog!

One of my favorite books is "Way of the Peaceful Warrior, " by Dan Millman, which I read a couple years ago and have just pulled out to read again. This book was recommended to me by a very smart and dear friend and got me through a very troubling time in my life. The movie however, I must stay, stunk. So don't judge the book by watching the movie. :)

I have to go with my most recent read because my brain card catalog doesn't remember what I read last month. "The Help" by Kathleen Stockett. really entertaining!

Oh, that is such a hard question. I could easily do a top ten list-but favorite? I think I would have to go with The Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the Ring), if I can just pick one, lol. That trilogy has been with me since I was a teen, and I still have it handy to read every so often.

Eat, Pray, Love would be my favorite book. I felt she was brave enough to leave the comfort of her world to travel and find true happiness. Also, I love reading your blog; I think I came across it off of your FB page.

My favorite book is The Secret Garden. I love the story and have great memories of reading it with my grandmother.

For me a tie between "The Air Conditioned Nightmare" by Henry Miller or "Operating Instructions: A Journal of My Son's First Year" by Anne Lamott. I guess one represents my "before child" life and the other my "post child" life.
